THE IDEA
I am a very curious person, and certain technologies engage and fascinate me. Audio is one of these, and it has always characterized my life.
Many times I found myself in public or private spaces, indoors or outdoors, with a sort of background discomfort, which was sometimes noise, sometimes distorted music, incomprehensible and tiring. Music, a most noble art that should create harmony and well-being for soul and body, often creates disharmony and discomfort.
Many times I wondered how we could create something that could diffuse sounds in harmony with our surroundings.
Accumulating experiences and with the fixed idea of improving our lives, at a certain point in my life I understood that to create this, I had to synergize matter with the surrounding environment so that the molecules of matter themselves would become a sound source. The technology had existed since the early 70s, but until now it hadn’t been expressed at levels that satisfied me.
Three years ago, I started working on the Wallplayer project, almost as a game at first, then more and more diligently, never satisfied with the improvements achieved until I reached an excellent result from an audio perspective. Wallplayer was born.

WallPlayer is a revolutionary
acoustic energy transmission system, patented
and entirely produced in Italy.
Using surfaces of wood, plexiglass, glass, e-bond, drywall, metal, and more, Wallplayer creates a flat, directive, and homogeneous sound wave (from 40 to 16,000 Hz depending on the material used), with limited angular dispersion.
This allows you to hear the same signal, which remains in phase at all frequencies anywhere in the environment, with a clear difference compared to traditional speakers, where the audio changes depending on the listening point.
The substantial difference from a normal audio speaker becomes apparent in the practical application of this system. Consider challenging environments like offices, meeting rooms, museums, shops, churches, and residences, where the sound from traditional audio speakers changes depending on your position. If we position ourselves in the immediate vicinity of the speaker, we might experience discomfort due to excessive volume. Conversely, if we position ourselves at the opposite end, we might hear unclear sound. In general, audio quality is dictated by the listener’s position.
Wallplayer, on the contrary, allows us to freely stop at any point in the environment and perceive the volume and tone of the audio in the same way.
Wallplayer offers greater intelligibility with less power and superior listening comfort compared to any other system.
The Wallplayer system is a solution to stand out in the sound diffusion sector, thanks to its multiple applications and ease of installation and use: when placed in furniture components such as kitchens, wardrobes, relaxation chairs, mirrors, garden furniture, saunas, and pools, it transforms the objects themselves into wonderful acoustic speakers.
Wallplayer is also designed for large environments where sound quality and clarity seem like an unattainable dream.
Wallplayer is the solution that allows you to use available materials in spaces, combined with advanced and powerful electronic sound processing systems.
Wallplayer has been designed with audio response characteristics that complement the human ear’s sensitivity to various frequencies.
In this graph, we observe human ear sensitivity to various frequencies at low volumes.
This is the curve that inspired Wallplayer’s frequency response, which functions as a “physiological volume compensator”
Below you’ll find an image that simplifies how the technology works when
Wallplayer is installed on the ceiling (drywall).
Unlike a normal speaker that diffuses audio in a conical manner and with different timing depending on the frequency being reproduced, the Wallplayer system diffuses audio uniformly throughout the environment, and the reproduced frequencies reach the ear simultaneously, creating a comfortable effect.
THE COMPANY
Idea srl was founded in May 2017 by Maurizio Mariani, who started this project after extensive experience in the innovative audio systems sector for speaker manufacturing companies as an installer, retailer, and product manager.
His intention is to create something that, in harmony with our surroundings, can diffuse sounds in a pleasant and rewarding way.
The goal is to synergize matter with the surrounding environment, so that molecules become the sound source.
From this concept, the Wallplayer acoustic energy transmitter took shape, a product that allows audio reproduction in a homogeneous, uniform, intelligible, and above all comfortable way. Sound is propagated through support surfaces, transforming them into wide and powerful acoustic sources that diffuse it uniformly, for an immersive and unique experience.
Discover how WallPlayer is Produced
“WallPlayer was born from love and passion for perfect audio. This passion is transmitted in the care of every single design, production, and testing phase of WallPlayer. All this to create an acoustic energy transmitter that stands out from any other audio product and forever changes your way of listening to music.”
FAQ
How Does Wallplayer Work?
Wallplayer is a powerful “acoustic energy transmitter” that transforms surfaces into speakers when applied to them.
Is Wallplayer like other "Transducers" "Exciters" "Surface Transducers"?
No, Wallplayer is a powerful “acoustic energy transmitter” that has been designed to compensate for human ear deficiencies at low and medium volume
Do I Need to Use the Power1 Amplifier to Amplify the Wallplayer Acoustic Energy Transmitter?
It’s not essential, although highly recommended as it’s designed to best enhance the product’s characteristics.
Besides the fact that installation makes it almost always invisible or aesthetically minimally invasive, what advantages do I get by installing the Wallplayer acoustic energy transmitter?
Sound homogeneity: at any point in the room/space, you can listen to the sound coming from Wallplayer with consistent and coherent volumes and tones.
Intelligibility: the sound message is always easily comprehensible from any listening point.
Efficiency: Wallplayer requires fewer transducers compared to the number of speakers in a traditional system.
Sound comfort: the emitted frequencies arrive simultaneously at the ear, and our brain doesn’t get tired trying to decode and align arrival times; essentially, there’s no listening fatigue.
Is Wallplayer a Delicate Product?
No, the Wallplayer acoustic energy transmitter has triple protection that activates when the coil temperature is high, when an impulse signal exceeds 2.2 amperes, and when a signal lasting several seconds exceeds 1.1 amperes. In all three cases, the volume level will automatically lower and reset once conditions return to normal.
In which Environments Can Wallplayer be Used?
It can be used in many environments:
residential, commercial, industrial, shops, wellness areas and spas, bathroom furnishings, hospitality, nautical, places of worship, art galleries, museums, conference rooms, music therapy, etc…On which Materials Can Wallplayer be Applied?
Wallplayer can be applied to a vast range of surfaces and materials: wood, glass, drywall, aluminum, e-bond, steel, fiberglass, carbon, laminates, composite materials, ceramic, plastic, polycarbonate, etc…
Is Wallplayer Difficult to Install?
No, using the accessories designed for it makes installation very simple and quick.
Is it Necessary to Use other Products like Subwoofers to Complete Wallplayer's Sound?
No, Wallplayer already has a complete and extended sound.
Who Likes Wallplayer?
All those who seek invisibility, sound coherence, listening comfort… many years of clear sound without problems.
Could Wallplayer Damage the Surfaces It's Applied to?
No, the material vibrations transmitted by Wallplayer are insignificant and measured in nano-millimeters; for example, a normal household appliance or air conditioning produces more vibrations than Wallplayer.
Does Wallplayer Sound the Same on both Sides of a Surface?
Yes, Wallplayer sounds the same on both sides of a surface.
